Biography:
Norman Cohen was born in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were from Brooklyn, New York and Wilmington, Delaware. His grandparents were originally from Russia and Romania. Mr. Cohen received an Associates degree in Recreation Leadership from Kingsborough Community College and a B.S. degree Cum Laude from the City University of New York where he received the honorable mention for Recreation Club Award from KCC and an award for the Student Council.

In addition, Norman was inducted into KCC’s Hall of Fame for Academic Outstanding Achievement and Fieldwork Supervisor. Norman was on the Dean’s List from both schools for many years and had his biography published in the Seventh Annual Edition of the National Dean’s List 1983-1984. He was also written up in Metroscope Magazine, February 1986.

Before coming to the Sephardic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, he worked for United Cerebral Palsy at Willowbrook on Staten Island for seven years. Norman Cohen joined the The Sephardic Home staff in 1983 where he started his career in recreation. He worked as the Director of Recreation for several years and for the past 11 years, he has been the Home’s Senior V.P. of Administration.
